Radical Challenge – Three podiums this weekend for Jerome
“This weekend is extremely positive for the championship.” Last 6th and 7th of April, Jerome de Sadeleer raced his way into the opening rounds of the Radical Challenge (Donington Park, England). A mostly promising start as the Swiss man snatched three podiums, counting one victory. He’s only bested by his rival, Dominik Jackson, who won two of the three races.
The first endurance challenge proved to be quite tricky for Jerome. Despite being pole-sitter, he lost his advantage at the Chicane, being outran by Dominik Jackson. Unfortunately, the deficit was too wide. Jerome ended at second, followed by Mark Richards. He declared: “I kept making mistakes and Dominik took advantage of that. I fell back down to fifth and climbed my way up to second.”
Way smoother than the first one, the second sprint race resulted in a big win for Jérôme. He bested Dominik during the first seconds of the challenge. Never headed or endangered by its rivals, he grabbed a very comfortable victory. “My wife told me I was too cocky going race one, so I kept my head cool and managed my race properly and it paid off to get first place.”
Third race: In spite of an early lead, the Swiss driver struggled with 10 seconds in time penalties, which dropped him from first to 13th. Jérôme fought his way to third place, just behind Jackson and Constable, securing his podium record.
The next round of the Radical Challenge Championship will be taking place next 11 and 12 May a Snetterton 300 (UK).
